1983 and 1984 in Formula Ford 2000 was an important period for Anthony as his career began to take off. The calibre of drivers in the final photo in the gallery says it all, Anthony (38) leads away from pole position at Cadwell Park with Julian Bailey (11) alongside him, Mauricio Gugelmin (5) and Martin Donnelly (4) following with Peter Hardman (17) and Maurico Sala (27) from 3rd row plus Andy Wallace (14).

Bailey, Gugelmin, and Donnelly ended up in Formula One, Sala was later Anthony's teammate in Formula 3 before success in World Sportscars, and Wallace became World Champion in World Sportscars.
