We’re kicking off our brand-new Race Watchalong series with BTCC legend John Cleland, as he sits down to relive his final BTCC win at Donington Park, 1998. Often described as the greatest BTCC race ever, it’s packed with drama, emotion and pure Super Touring nostalgia.
Never will you see a more eclectic range of cars than you will in JGTC. F40s racing RX7s, Countach’s duling Supras?? I’m not sure what the regulations said but I’m here for it. Anthony is in the F40.
In December 2023 Anthony paired up with Murray Sheppard to compete in the Cape 3-Hour race in South Africa, driving a Ginetta G55 GT3.
In 1998 Tiff Needell drove for Nissan in a BTCC race along with Anthony Reid and David Leslie (the video features Anthony)...
In 2004 former and current BTCC drivers took part in a one-make race driving identical SEAT Cupra Cup cars. The race was named "BTCC Masters" and included drivers such as John Cleland, Tim Harvey, Jason Plato, Matt Neal, Gabriele Tarquini, Patrick Watts, Julian Bailey, Alan Menu, and others. In total, 16 BTCC legends took part. Grid positions were drawn from a hat. Anthony Reid was on the front row next to John Cleland. The start didn't go to plan for Anthony when he accidentally jumped the start but immediately realised his mistake and stopped, and was subsequently swamped and relegated to 8th place... what happened next was amazing, watch the video!

Anthony took part in the CTCRC Super Touring Car Races at Silverstone on 26 & 27 March 2022... This is Race 2...
Driving the Nissan Primera he last drove as a works driver 25 years ago, Race 1 started OK, Anthony swapping places with Jason Minshaw in Rickard Rydell's Volvo and old rival John Cleland in his Vauxhall Vectra. But after 5 laps a bolt broke on Anthony's front wheel, ending his race. As can be seen in the video, Anthony was victorious after a race long battle with Minshaw and Cleland.
